Boring. Everything was boring. School was boring. What was challenging about knowing how to get a certain number? Boring. Noah Elllington was actually pretty good when it came to his schoolwork. He wasn't a dumb boy. He wasn't like those jocks that stare at a football and wonder why there are certain markings on it or trying to line up their fingers impossibly to be perfect like in a comic book. Noah was bored of school. It felt easy for him. Too easy.

So... What did the seventeen year old Noah decide to do? He decided to cut class. It was his last class of the day, anyway. He wasn't going to sit around for another boring history lecture of the American conquest over Japan. He already knew that. The damn History Channel aired that when they ran out of television shows about aliens or pawning useless junk that nobody really wants anyway. He was out in the field, looking over at the grounds. He sat in the grass, under a tree, his back against the tree looking about.

He lifted his right hand up and muttered words under his mouth to summon a small ball of fire in his hand. He was practicing. Practicing hard. He blew onto the flame to make it roar from a tiny ball to something that engulfed his hand. Noah quickly shook his hand and the fire died out. He was bored. "Ugh." he grunted under his breath and laid his head back to the tree, closing his eyes. Perhaps the squirrels would come out and play.
