Have you heard the joke a wolf walks into a hospital?

Jer could smell the stench of a hospital miles away.  He avoided them like the plague, for hospitals had sharp objects that could cause a lot of pain, sarcastic doctors who needed good reality checks, and crowded ERs with long wait times.  At least in veterinary clinics  you were surrounded by animal lovers and the wolf form could absorb more of the pain so he could feel less of it.  So why was he here.  If you asked him two hours ago he would have told you it it was a good place to start searching for Stella St. Rose, his gal's mother, and friend.  Which he would do of course, after his injuries were evaluated by someone in the ER...if he ever made it back there.  For right now he sat next to an older lady wheezing who used his bad arm as a pillow.  If he wasn't such a softy he would totally move to another seat, if there was another seat anyway.

[Ethan "Ian" Matthew]

It was strangely quiet that day in the emergency room. Ethan had told one of the nurses she could go home. He didn't expect anything. Barring a large explosion or something he was pretty sure it'd be a slow day. Slow days were nice and weren't unusual in a small town hospital. It was surprising the town had a hospital, but, it had some generous benefactors. For some reason the little town Ethan grew up in had a large number of very wealthy and very powerful individuals making it their home. Ethan knew of the supernatural, and he supposed it was because of that. His parents and siblings weren't as keen about werewolves, other witches, vampires, heck whatever else there was. Ethan knew them well as he met a few.

Ethan sat. He did paperwork. Paperwork that needed to be done. Slowly, the place started getting busier. Some person felt as they were having a heart attack. He just signed the prescription and called the doctor on the phone. "Yeah. Okay." he nodded his head and got up. He moved out to the waiting room, and glanced to his side. "Take him and I'll take her?" he told the other nurse as they both walked toward the two. He blinked, looking at him. He felt something different. "Actually, I'll take him."

Ethan waited until the elderly lady was escorted and walked to him. He crouched down a bit, looking at his face. "Are you alright?" he asked. He blinked again, breathing lightly. He knew it was a werewolf. "I'll do your blood work myself, we don't need anyone finding out you're a werewolf." Ethan spoke in a hushed tone. "Can you move, to follow me to a private room?"

You would have had to look very closely at Jericho's face to catch the slightest blink of surprise that he was called out as a werewolf already. He prided himself on not giving anyone the slightest inclination on what he was feeling or thinking.  But he wasn't like his brother, he couldn't mask it all very well.  He thought it shouldn't come as a surprise, he had already breathed in this witch even before he walked through the door.  Why would Jer be the only person able to sense others outside the norm? It wasn't so much that he smelled of anything that could be described.  Like Libby, this male witch had more of a cleaning-light smell that automatically gave Jer the answer to who this guy was.  

Only being in town for a couple hours, Jer knew this town was something unlike anywhere he's ever been.  Literally crossing the town's line, they all felt it, a feeling that they passed through something, and that something allowed them to enter.  Almost as if the town was accepting them for what they were.  He smelled, even barely, to know that there were some like him and Jonsey, that there were biters in town (now there Jer could definately tell you smelled like something...decomposing raw meat), and others not so easy to identify.

But here was someone like his Libby and her sister.  Someone whose words could be trusted, and his identity safe to the rest of the staff this guy said so.  Jericho grin his wickedly cocky grin as he stood up, clinching his left arm, and said, "Tell me, do I smell that bad of a big bad wolf?"

"Smell? No. You smell kind of nice, actually." Ethan spoke with a smile. He turned his head to catch the cocky grin from the fella. Ethan smirked. He came to the door and pulled it open, holding it with his back for the man to step through. "I was able to tell you were a wolf the moment I spotted you." he spoke, giving a smirk back at him. "You all have a distinct attractive quality about you all." he kept his smirk.

He stepped through the door himself, turning his head. He stopped and stepped back, to whisper. "I know all about your kind. All." It was true. Ethan had met his first werewolf when he was fourteen years old. He met a witch when he was thirteen. He had yet to meet a Demon, actually. Little did he know that Aedan Varki would be one soon enough. Ethan blinked at the wolf. "Luckily for you, I don't have to hide unconventional methods." he gave a grin. This was a chance for Ethan to use actual magic without getting caught.

But, this was a newcomer. He didn't recognize this man. The man didn't know of him or to ask for him in the hospital to get away from being with other humans and have someone that knew of the supernatural to help. "In there." Ethan pointed at a room with an open door. He'd draw the blinds himself.

Jer walked past him and into the room where he pointed.  He was musing to himself that he smelled good, not like when Libby complained, but then it hit him like a ton of bricks and he was in a world of trouble.  No one ever said he smelled attractive before, not even his own mother and especially not the same sex.  His mother always said his grin would get him into trouble, and sometimes  it would, but he was hoping it wouldn't be this case. 

He breathed in and hoped to all things that he wasn't already turning bright red, a trait that a werewolf shouldn't have.  He tried calming his nerves, focusing at the task instead of his embarrassment.  It wasn't that it wasn't nice to be called attractive by anyone, but he would never hear the end of it, especially from Libby.  She was torturous when they were alone, her smile, laughter, and playfulness always got the best of him.  She would run wild with embarrassing him, and he'd let her of course. 

He had to focus on the task at hand, finding Stella St. Rose and he needed all the help he could get.  Which seemed like this was what this person was willing to give to a stranger, and quickly by the sounds of it.  The St. Rose sisters could master up some great remedies that worked extra fast so he was thankful with his luck with Ian, so said the name tag on his scrubs.  Plus Jericho was a  good person reader, and this guy seemed genuinely good.  He could use a bit of good luck right now.  Especially after the day he had once splitting from the group.  If it wasn't  embarrassment enough he was getting hit on by a nurse, it was for what got him in  the ER to begin with.  

So he resorted to his best mechanism,  his joker side.   "So have you heard the joke a wolf walks into a bar...The name's Jericho by the way, thanks for your help Ian" Jericho said, "Do we do this with or without my shirt on." Jericho also had a tendency to say the wrong things to promote his own further downfall to embarrassment, he knew for he felt his face go redder.  All he could do was smile, at leas there wouldn't be any sharp needles.

"That's entirely up to you, Jericho." Ethan commented, setting down the folder he juggled from hand to hand and under his arms on the walk over. The folder held any information he had about Jericho. He was new to town. Ethan could tell that. "What brings you to visit?" Ethan looked at the file, noting the address. "We couldn't find anything on you. Is there someone we should contact to get a copy of your files, for future reference?"

Ethan rolled his shoulders, looking at the attractive man. He stepped on the pedals under the sink, to run the water on his hands. Ethan used the soap, washed his hands quickly before he grabbed a pair of gloves, as that was procedure. "So. What happened here?" he asked, looking at him carefully. "I have not. What happened when a wolf walks into a bar, Jericho?"

Ethan kept a smile, he moved forward to look near the arm. "Any allergies I should be aware of?"

“Well I guess you could say a little family reunion that turned into a little lost and found.” Jericho painfully grabbed a picture out of his jean pocket and held it over to Ian. “You haven’t happen to see this woman, Stella St. Rose, in the ER anytime soon?” Jericho was just testing his luck, he hadn’t smelt her here within the weeks or so. But hospitals could give off a very muffled answer with all the smells of antiseptics, death, and illness. He had to make sure even though he knew the answer was no.

Pain shot through Jericho’s arm, making him cringe as he anticipated Ian touching his pained arm. Normally he wasn’t such a baby, he was after all a werewolf but his healing abilities, even in human form, were more exceptional than most. But running into devil’s hornet out in the woods made him loose he senses, making him trip on a tree root and right into the plant. He was pretty sure he had some of it in his scrapes on his arm and in his bloodstream preventing the healing. He was most defiantly aware too that is shoulder might possibly be dislocated.

“Oh, I took a stroll into the woods, ran into some devil’s hornet, lost my footing, fell and now I’m here…what am I allergic to? Apparently devil’s hornet and needles, I’m definitely allergic to needles.”

"And , what happened when the wolf walked into a bar?  Oh nothing much except they had a howlin good time" Jericho used the best cheesy grin he could master, anything to help out that lame joke.

"A stroll in the woods did this damage?" Ian glanced over at the man's face with a smirk on his features. Ian knew all too well what to think. A family reunion and a lost and found. He wasn't entirely sure what to say. Ethan looked over at the photograph, he grabbed it from the hands of the wolf gently and stared at it. He tried to recall. "I'm sorry. I haven't. But, I was out of town recently. After we're done here, you can ask the charge nurse if you'd like." Ian sat the photo down and looked back at the wolf's arm.

Jericho seemed to handle it well enough. He did cringe. It was a natural instinct. It also made him feel more comfortable that a werewolf could cringe. Ian softly pressed the wound around the arm. He looked at that curiously. Ian reached his hand over to a plastic wrapped item and ripped it open. He lifted grabbed gloves from under the bed and snapped them on. "So, no allergies to bees?" Ian smirked, grabbing the plastic bag he ripped open and pulling out tweezers again.

Ian's steady left hand held the tweezers as he lightly pushed the skin down with his right hand. He yanked out a small black needle looking like object. He sat the tweezers aside, and grabbed a new bag and ripped it open and pulled out new tweezers and yanked another black needle out. "Looks like you got stung. Twice." Ian smiled. "Don't worry. I won't give you a shot for pain... Or a pill." Ian took off his gloves and sat them on the tweezers. He grabbed a bottle. "May sting." and sprayed the antiseptic onto the wound. His hands had to be bare for this. He held his left hand over the wound and pressed his palm against it. He placed his right hand against Jericho's chest, near the center over the heart. He pressed both of his palms in and smiled at Jericho. "Nice pecs. This Might make you feel a rush, please don't turn on me." Ian's hands begun glowing as he healed the wound. The right hand was simply an excuse to feel the beating of the chest.

"You're lucky. I don't use healing magic on any mortal besides my father." he laughed. He slowly lifted his hands off. The wolf healing would finish the wound.
