Who volunteers to visit a police station?

Dara huffed as she grabbed a hold of the police station's glass doors and slugged it open as if it was pure exhaustion.  Her feet hurt from her red silhouette heels and god knows what state the rest of her was in.  She barely accepted the reflection she saw of herself in the glass, her blonde hair was shrew everywhere from the wind and if her mother was here she'd have lectured her about it. Well, maybe not, because if she was here Dara could lecture her about the proper mannerisms of a St. Rose who got herself in jail and see how she likes it.  Then Dara would have complained about not getting the car, Libby and Jones had that.  She should have been ok with the idea that Jones and her were to go walk around the main store area.  But he was the one calling the shots.  But no, she rebelled and wanted to go off on her own.  She was a strong independent woman who could take care of her self she had to remind them, also her. So they give her a bogus task of visiting the police station.  So here she was, a mess, in pain, and proud enough to show it as she entered through the doors across the lobby area.  She stood in front of the reception desk, ready to conclude it before it began,with a loud sigh and hands on her hip, ready to do business.  The sooner she got this done, the sooner she could get out of there and somewhere that might spoil her with a warm bath, food, and sleep.  

After all, there was no way a St. Rose was sitting in a jail cell.  No way.

After patrolling around the neighborhoods in Westborough, Gabriel had come back to the police station just to get his desk organized and work on some of the paperwork that had been left since the previous Sheriff left town.  It had been a few minutes of quiet before he had heard the door chime, registering that it had been opened by someone.  The chime made him look up from what he was doing, and that's when he noticed the young woman standing there, looking distraught.  

Without much hesitation he spoke to her, and wondered what had happened.  

"How can I help you, Miss?"  He had never seen her before, but that didn't mean anything, because Gabriel was new to the area.  He wouldn't have known many people at all.  So the unfamiliarity of the woman standing before him wasn't a surprise.  However, the expression on her face gave him pause, and it made him even more curious about why she'd shown up at the police station.

Dara, the melodramatic self that she was being, looked at the sheriff not so annoyed at him but of herself in this  situation.  She slugged her large Michael Kors ruby leather grab bag on the counter (it was a steal at Macys that Dara ), looking for something.  She was having difficulty finding it so as she rummaged through it she pulled out  handfuls of makeup, two hair brushes, a large phone, a book and a bra.  She wasn't embarrassed by the pile she just produced in front of the sheriff, in fact there wasn't a lot that would make this girl blush and it sure didn't phase her that she would get others embarrassed around her.  

"Finally" she yelled as she found it and pulled it out.  In her hand was a crumpled photograph, obviously a victim to the items in her bag. Her mother's beauty within the photograph defied it's condition.  It was Dara's favorite picture of her, one that reminisced the good times.  Dara set the photo down and pushed it in front of the sheriff.  "Sure, but I have the feeling I already have the answer. But I can't leave until you give me an answer. This woman in the photo, have you seen her? Her name is Stella St. Rose and she's my mother."

Gabriel wasn't really taken aback by the contents in her purse, as he had seen worse. At least she hadn't been carrying drugs or a weapon, or something that would have made him have to arrest her. When she handed him the picture of her mother he took it from her gently and studied it for a few moments. When he didn't recognize her shook his head and handed it back to her. "I'm sorry, but I've only been here for a few weeks. I haven't had time to meet everyone yet...is your mother missing?"

He frowned and narrowed his eyebrows, wondering what exactly was going on with this young woman. If her mother was missing, things my start getting interesting around here fast. "How long has it been since you've seen her?"

Dara shakes her head, "See I just knew that she wouldn't be here locked away in some cell or worse."  Dara said this as she threw her items back into her purse haphazardly.  "It just not like her to get thrown into jail."  Their mother always prided that her bloodline was half responsible for their being in more than one way.  Before she was Mrs. St. Rose she was formerly known a Miss  Bodeas, born to a proper gentlemen father and a very ladylike young mother in a small town.  Her parents were cruel to implement in Stella at a very young age of family legacy.  Any generation of a Bodeas had to have the mannerisms and etiquette of an adult, the makeup applying skill of their Mrs. Harvell Bodeas, and the popularity to pull it off.  They had to dress the part, act the part, and teach the part.  You wouldn't think Miss Stella Bodeas would have Moon as a sutiable middle name, which everyone thought.  But Stella's mother highly blamed her sister for that mistake through the use of the second highly valued Bodeas family trait of witchcraft.  There was no way in heaven or hell that Stella's mother would have named her daughter that except if she was cursed (the end result of a very witty sister who laughed at every attempt at conformity to Bodeas perfection). 

Dara was told many a times by her mother that she was the replica of this Aunt, though Dara did enjoy the qualities of proper makeup, cute dresses, high fashion heels and killer purses (this Aunt apparently dressed as a man to spite her family).  Dara reached up and started to fix her hair while she spoke to the Sheriff "Granted, she is a little free spirited, if her nickname wasn't enough clue to give it away."  Hair was fixed, onto lipstick, a very light red color that coordinated with her purse, heels, and belt on her navy blue knee length dress.  "She sent for us to come here to her with an address at a house she apparently set up for us.  We were expecting, well hoping actually,  to see her." Next came out the mirror and masquera.  " We  even got a welcome home note." Mirror snapped shut.  "Libby, my sister, just got paranoid.  I'm sure she's around here...she's probably even waiting for us at home wondering where we all are."  Dara squinted to look at the Sheriff's name. Just as she was about to thank him for taking the time to verify what she'd known all along she got a text message and read it. 

It was a group message from everyone, she must have missed hearing the text notifications while she stormed walking to the police station.  They all repeated the same message in each their own way.  She's not here.  No one walked up to her doing normal things like shopping, being checked out in an ER, eating, it was just nothing.  No one sensed her being here, but they hadn't given it enough time she screamed in her head.    It was time for Dara to be serious for just a brief moment. Had something happened to her?
